About the course
Examine the connection between mining operations and the preparation of mineral products. The proposed outline follows the resource value chain while maintaining a clear engineering foundation. Southern African projects should consider feed variability, product requirements, resource use, worker welfare and environmental responsibilities across the mine and processing interface.

Practical application
Practical provision should include authorised mining observation and suitable processing laboratories under qualified supervision. Students should use permissioned teaching data and record sampling limitations. Operational site tasks require separate competence and authority. The integrated programme must provide sufficient depth without claiming two complete specialist degrees.
