This course develops your ability to use and develop digital systems while maintaining reliable information and secure working practices. Learning combines technical study with practical tasks relevant to Southern African organisations and communities.

Requirements

Guided examples introduce cells and ranges and data types, followed by practice with formulas and functions. You will complete a supervised task, explain your choices and use charts and checking results to review the result.
- Presentations and Visual Communication. Build foundation skills in presentations and visual communication. Guided examples introduce audience and slide structure, followed by practice with visual hierarchy and images. You will complete a supervised task, explain your choices and use accessible design and presenting to review the result.
- Email, Internet and Information Checking. Build foundation skills in email, internet and information checking. Guided examples introduce email structure and attachments, followed by practice with search methods and source checking. You will complete a supervised task, explain your choices and use scams and professional conduct to review the result.
Stage 3: Enterprise and integrated proficiency
- Small Enterprise Records and Customer Communication. Study the development of a viable small enterprise from a defined customer need. Guided practice centres on a small-enterprise plan and test record, drawing on customer problems and enterprise opportunities and products, services and value propositions. You will record findings, justify decisions and check whether the financial assumptions and customer evidence support the proposal.
- Computer Operations Skills Proficiency. Demonstrate the practical skills developed across the programme. Tasks integrate computer hardware and operating basics, word processing and document layout within an agreed work brief. You will prepare resources, carry out the authorised task and check the result. Your evidence should show consistent performance, accurate records and an explanation of decisions within your learner role.
